By accessing or using contractrating.com (the "Site") you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
Contract Rating is a contractor directory and review aggregation service operated by an individual based in Ontario, Canada. The Site displays publicly available business information and reviews retrieved from the Google Places API, together with original editorial guidance written by us.
Contract Rating is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated in partnership with Google.
You may use the Site for lawful personal and informational purposes only. You agree not to:
Contractor listings, business details, ratings and reviews are retrieved from the Google Places API and represent publicly available information. We do not independently verify its accuracy, completeness or reliability.
We make no guarantee that contractor information is current or accurate, that reviews reflect genuine customer experiences, or that any contractor listed is licensed, insured or qualified. The Places API returns a maximum of five reviews per business, so what appears here is a sample rather than a complete review history.
You should independently verify a contractor's credentials, licensing and insurance before hiring. Contract Rating is not responsible for the quality of work performed by any contractor listed on the Site, and listing a business is not an endorsement of it.
Our hiring guides, cost benchmarks and city pages are general information written to help you ask better questions. They are not legal, financial, engineering or construction advice, and they are not a substitute for a professional assessment of your specific property.
Cost figures are planning estimates that move with material prices, demand and the specifics of a job. Licensing and permit requirements change, and vary by municipality. Always confirm current requirements with the relevant authority and get written quotes for your own project.
The Contract Rating name, site design, and all original editorial content - including the hiring guides, methodology and city pages - are the property of the Site operator.
Contractor names, business information and review text are the property of their respective owners and are displayed for informational purposes with attribution to their source.
You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the Site's original content without written permission.
The Site currently displays no advertising and carries no paid placement. No contractor can pay to rank higher, be featured, or have a review hidden, and we do not sell your details to contractors as leads.
If advertising is introduced in future it will be clearly labelled, visually distinct from listings, and will not influence the order in which contractors appear. Our methodology page will be updated to say so.
The Site links to contractor websites and relies on third-party services including the Google Places API, Supabase and Vercel. These are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Contract Rating is not responsible for the content, accuracy or practices of any third-party website or service.
THE SITE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY ONTARIO AND CANADIAN LAW, CONTRACT RATING DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CONTRACT RATING SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR RELIANCE ON ANY INFORMATION PROVIDED HEREIN, INCLUDING DAMAGES ARISING FROM HIRING A CONTRACTOR LISTED ON THE SITE.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Site shall not exceed $100 CAD.
Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have under Ontario's Consumer Protection Act or other applicable consumer protection legislation that cannot lawfully be excluded.
We may modify, suspend or discontinue the Site at any time without notice, and may update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect when posted to this page.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada. Disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Site shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.
