We had a superb experience working with Michael. He is a lovely person, his work is absolutely meticulous, and he keeps everything very clean and tidy. We hope to hire him again.

Hiring Michael from LadBrock Carpentry was the easiest, most seamless, and quality-to-affordability experience we could have hoped for in building a fence around our backyard. Throughout the project, Michael demonstrated excellent communication, offered us various quotes to fit into our budget, and arranged sub-contractors for post-setting in order to make the fence project more affordable for us. The quality of the project is beyond what we could have hoped for and we love our new fence (as does our dog)! During our project, Michael was incredible in working through unexpected obstacles. We had issues with our neighbours after providing them a month’s notice of the project, followed by them using a Tree Protection Bylaw as a means to both stop our project and try and change our lot’s boundaries in their favour. While he was on vacation, we were able to get a hold of Michael to delay our post-setting and fence construction until after we were able to discuss the issue with our lawyer and coordinate with Toronto Urban Forestry for a permit to 'Injure a Tree.' Michael was phenomenal in refunding our initial deposit (we were so scared we would lose it!), reassessing the quote and adding a very nominal cost for specialized labour around the protected tree, and thoroughly reviewing our third-party Tree Protection Plan and Site Plan to comply with our permit. He was kind, conscientious, and just overall a caring human being to us when—as new homeowners—we were navigating a challenging experience with our largest-cost home project to date. After hearing horror stories from friends and relatives about experiences with lousy contractors, along with seeing some botch jobs that had been done to our house prior to us owning, we are so thankful to have such a skillful, kind, and detail-oriented contractor to call for all of our construction projects for years to come! We have already referred Michael to some of our neighbours looking for a general contractor, along with family in the GTHA and friends in Toronto. We couldn’t be happier with the experience and would highly recommend him to anyone who needs a woodworking project done to their property!

We hired Michael/LadBrock Carpentry to build us a new stoop and roof over our back door. It also involved taking down our old deck and putting in a new privacy wall where the old deck used to be. He did an absolutely solid and meticulous job! We were very happy with the work he did and would definitely hire him again (and happily recommend him to others). We also appreciated his expertise and suggestions for the stoop and roof.

Michael did an excellent job on repairing our 1920's era porch, replacing deteriorated wood and ensuring his repairs blended seamlessly into the existing structure. He was able to make suggestions that improved the finished product and saved us time and effort. We were very pleased with the high quality of his work. He also did a great job in terms of clean-up, and when he was finished, there was really nothing else for us to do but enjoy the finished product. We would be happy to hire him in future for carpentry projects.

We hired Mike to build an enclosed back porch and deck. We were very happy with his work and would absolutely hire Mike again. He is an excellent carpenter who does quality work. He is reliable, considerate and a good communicator. We would recommend Mike unconditionally. You would be very fortunate to have Mike working on your project.
