We have been working with Donnalee and Rick on painting our house and patching and repairing walls since 2019. They have painted our entire house, repaired damaged drywall and touched up our painted walls. They are meticulous and take great care in ensuring excellence in the quality of their work. Their repair work, quality of their painting job and their excellence in ensuring a clean and organized work space is beyond compare. We recently had our entire house professionally painted by Donnalee of the Painter Sisters and we couldn’t be happier! The finished product is gorgeous. Donnalee provided excellent suggestions and kept the house clean during the process. We would recommend to anyone. Thank you Donnalee and Rick!

Donnalee is amazing. I had my house painted back in 2019 and promised I would leave a review and then got busy and never did. Fast forward to this past weekend when a small kitchen fire damaged my ceiling and now I need to repaint a small section. I emailed Donnalee and she identified the colour and is dropping off some for me free of charge. So this is the review I should have done 3 years ago! Just all around amazing service, attention to detail and even through she painted for us 3 years ago we are still in love with it. Five stars all around. Thanks again Donnalee you are amazing!

Before you hire a painter in Ontario

No provincial licence required. Insurance and a clear written scope carry the weight here.

General liability insurance

Covers overspray on a neighbour's car, damage to flooring, and ladder incidents. Ask for the certificate.

WSIB clearance

Especially relevant for exterior work at height. Many small painting operations are owner-operators who may be exempt - ask them to confirm their status in writing either way.

Lead-safe work practices for pre-1980 homes

Sanding old paint can disturb lead. A painter working on an older home should be able to describe how they contain dust.

Questions worth asking

What preparation is included - filling, sanding, caulking, priming?
How many coats, and is primer counted as one of them?
What paint product and finish line are you using? (Brand alone does not say much; the product line does.)
Does the quote include ceilings, trim, doors and closet interiors, or walls only?
How are floors, furniture and fixtures protected?
