From the very start Alex was thorough and professional. The whole crew was friendly and knowledgeable, going above and beyond on the job. 12/10 would recommend Banman Windows to anyone.

My daughter needed a new rear door and frame and also a new storm door. Rick and his son Alex came and gave a very thorough examination of the project and took the time to sit down and explain every detail and the products used. I received a very professional estimate later. Their schedule was as promised. The crew did a very nice job, no fuss, no mess. To top everything, the price was quite competitive. I would call not hesitate to refer them to family and friends.

I would like to thank Rick Banman of Banman Windows & Doors for his expertise in selecting the perfect windows for my home. I am over the moon with my new windows that his crew installed today. The bay window was just what I needed to see the sunset at night and the awning window over the kitchen sink is now a breeze to open. His team went above and beyond to install 9 windows, 2 door lights and weather seal in 5 hours. Ricks crew are very skilled, diligent and very professional. Very highly recommended. Five stars for a job well done.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you Rick!

I recently had a large bedroom window replaced. Met Rick Banman at the local home show. He is genuinely nice guy and made the quote process quick, efficient and logical. Window was installed on time and I must say with a high degree of obvious expertise. Everything looks great and price was as quoted. From start to finish (which was very quick) I was thrilled with the customer service, the price, the quality of the window and the installation. I highly recommend Banman

Bryan Strang

Rick and his team was fantastic from start to finish. I had them replace a very old front door in 1960s house - Rick was out quick to quote, and gave plenty of options and price points. He was really personable and easy to deal with. When it came to install, his team came at the exact day and time they said they would, had the old door out and new one in within an hour. Daniel and the installer team were just as friendly and helpful as Rick!! Incredibility happy with everything! Easy 5 stars all day long! Couldn't recommend more highly!

Before you hire a window and door installer in Ontario

No provincial licence is required. Installation quality is governed by manufacturer specification and the Ontario Building Code rather than by a trade certificate.

General liability insurance and WSIB clearance

Standard checks. Window installation involves ladder work and heavy glass.

Manufacturer-trained installer status

Matters more than usual here, because most window warranties are voided by installation that departs from the manufacturer specification.

Building permit for new or enlarged openings

Replacing a window in an existing opening generally does not need one. Cutting a new opening, or enlarging one for a basement egress window, generally does.

Verify with: Your municipal building department confirms what your specific job requires.

ENERGY STAR certification for the product

Relevant if you intend to claim any efficiency rebate, which typically requires certified products and documentation.

Questions worth asking

  • Is this a retrofit or a full-frame installation? What would the other one cost?
  • How is the gap between the window and the rough opening insulated and air-sealed?
  • Is exterior capping included, and in what colour and material?
  • Is the warranty on the glass seal, the frame, and the labour - and are they different lengths?
  • Is the warranty transferable if I sell the house?
