I wouldn’t get windows or doors anywhere else. Jeff has installed an entranceway , patio door and another door over 2024-25. Clera is experienced and down to earth. Pricing and quality is 100%

Chose Clera Windows Kingston after reading the positive reviews. We had all our upstairs windows replaced. Installation was professional and they were very good cleaning up the debris. Rick from Clera really came through with excellent customer service! Will definitely recommend.

Over the past 2 years, we have had the pleasure of Clera replacing our basement windows and most recently the patio door. Our home investment started with Rick who was knowledgeable, honest, fair and reliable. The installerJeff and his team are also tops. The finished product is perfection. They also stand behind their workmanship like nobody I have ever dealt with in the past 50 years. The Clera team in Kingston are a talented group and I highly recommend them to anyone looking to replace those older windows and exterior doors. Thank you Clera.

From the estimate appt with Rick to office calls with Sandra to the installation with Jeff & his crew, I have nothing but praise for this company and their service. The previous home-owner had Clera windows installed for their upgrades, and I really liked the quality and functionality of these Canadian-made windows. Got other estimates, but really like the professional and straight forward sales approach from Rick in meeting our needs, the reasonable price compared to other window companies, and the fact that there's a lifetime warranty (The least expensive estimate offered only a 20 year warranty). And, the timing gave us an even better value with the free upgrade to the Brillance Line option! Thank you!

Before you hire a window and door installer in Ontario

No provincial licence is required. Installation quality is governed by manufacturer specification and the Ontario Building Code rather than by a trade certificate.

General liability insurance and WSIB clearance

Standard checks. Window installation involves ladder work and heavy glass.

Manufacturer-trained installer status

Matters more than usual here, because most window warranties are voided by installation that departs from the manufacturer specification.

Building permit for new or enlarged openings

Replacing a window in an existing opening generally does not need one. Cutting a new opening, or enlarging one for a basement egress window, generally does.

Verify with: Your municipal building department confirms what your specific job requires.

ENERGY STAR certification for the product

Relevant if you intend to claim any efficiency rebate, which typically requires certified products and documentation.

Questions worth asking

  • Is this a retrofit or a full-frame installation? What would the other one cost?
  • How is the gap between the window and the rough opening insulated and air-sealed?
  • Is exterior capping included, and in what colour and material?
  • Is the warranty on the glass seal, the frame, and the labour - and are they different lengths?
  • Is the warranty transferable if I sell the house?
