We had Marc replace all of the windows in our house and his attention to detail was fantastic. We were very particular about the trim we wanted and he accommodated our requests.

I have had Marc replace all my windows in my last 3 homes. Jomar is one of very few companies that rebuild your window frame before installing the new windows, I happened to know even the big expensive companies do not do this. He is very kind, efficient and does fantastic work!

I had Jomar Windows & Doors install two ground floor windows in my home. I'am very happy with the results. Excellent pricing and great workmanship. I had at least six different estimates but Marc impressed me the most, his experience made me confident the job would be done right.

We recently had our front door entrance done and my family really, really likes it. Guests have come over praising it as well. We got a new storm door, too and the difference in quality is so great compared to our old storm door. The installation is tight so we no longer have small wind drafts coming in our home. The frosted glass is just so beautiful along with the new door. Marc was very helpful and communicative throughout the whole process which I really appreciate. He informed me of any changes and provided his input as well in a respective way and I did end up following his some of his advice a few times and it turned out great. Thanks again! I look forward to using your again Marc!

We've hired Jomar for three projects to replace a total of 11 windows and a front door. Marc is experienced, professional and the work is great. I don't have too many "go-to" trades people however we will stick with Jomar for this type of work.

Before you hire a window and door installer in Ontario

No provincial licence is required. Installation quality is governed by manufacturer specification and the Ontario Building Code rather than by a trade certificate.

General liability insurance and WSIB clearance

Standard checks. Window installation involves ladder work and heavy glass.

Manufacturer-trained installer status

Matters more than usual here, because most window warranties are voided by installation that departs from the manufacturer specification.

Building permit for new or enlarged openings

Replacing a window in an existing opening generally does not need one. Cutting a new opening, or enlarging one for a basement egress window, generally does.

Verify with: Your municipal building department confirms what your specific job requires.

ENERGY STAR certification for the product

Relevant if you intend to claim any efficiency rebate, which typically requires certified products and documentation.

Questions worth asking

  • Is this a retrofit or a full-frame installation? What would the other one cost?
  • How is the gap between the window and the rough opening insulated and air-sealed?
  • Is exterior capping included, and in what colour and material?
  • Is the warranty on the glass seal, the frame, and the labour - and are they different lengths?
  • Is the warranty transferable if I sell the house?
