This is a great company in Kingston, as they were the only place I could find what I needed for my rental place. No others could deliver, let alone would quote readily, on 1 window, when asked. Jesse was quick and accurate to measure and verify the window would fit. It came in early as I needed urgently and Seth and Bill installed it very professionally, in a tricky and tight place. Clean up was perfect. window is excellent quality, looks great, plenty caulking etc, inside and out. This is second time I've used this company and highly recommend. Their prices too are good, standing out from many competitors.

We recently had three large family room windows as well as two doors replaced. The work was VERY well done, it looks absolutely FANTASTIC! Will and Seth are stellar professionals and we could not be happier with the results. It is so reassuring to find a company that can answer lots of questions, perform highly-skilled work and treat customers with dedication. Follow-up: We purchased MORE windows and the installation from Bill and Seth was TERRIFIC!!!!! With all these beautiful windows, of course we used this great company for our roller shades x7. Diana Mangan has such gorgeous fabric options and she is also HIGHLY SKILLED. Her recommendations were very helpful and as a result, we are really enjoying these beautiful motorized shades that Will installed so carefully. THANK YOU, yet again!!

Recently had Kingston Windows & Doors replace a sliding patio door in my walkout basement. I had an idea of what I was looking for but Maria in the office was able to narrow down and suggest a door type that suited my needs. Jesse handled the quote and took the measurements. He was courteous and professional and was able to answer all of my questions while on site and after the fact. Unfortunately, I did not get the names of the two gentlemen that came to both uninstall the old and reinstall the new door, but they were also courteous and professional. The had the old door out and the new one installed in just half a day. More importantly, they did a terrific job installing the door. The finished product looks great. Couldn’t be more happy with the result and experience over all. I won’t hestitate to use Kingston Windows & Doors again in the future.

Just ordered a handful of windows, they have not come in yet (only been a week) but im giving them a 5star for how awesome the ordering process was. Their rep and I went over the dimensions multiple times to ensure accuracy. I was shown very option available and a discussion was had about my particular needs for each window. Highly recommended

We had 7 large windows replaced and every step of the process has been handled promptly & professionally. From Chris' recommendation on an energy evaluation, to the detailed estimates provided by Jesse to the perfect installation by Seth & Will. Everyone showed up on time and were courteous and pleasant to work with. And, they were $1500 less than my other 2 quotes. I would highly recommend the team at Kingston Windows & Doors.

Before you hire a window and door installer in Ontario

No provincial licence is required. Installation quality is governed by manufacturer specification and the Ontario Building Code rather than by a trade certificate.

General liability insurance and WSIB clearance

Standard checks. Window installation involves ladder work and heavy glass.

Manufacturer-trained installer status

Matters more than usual here, because most window warranties are voided by installation that departs from the manufacturer specification.

Building permit for new or enlarged openings

Replacing a window in an existing opening generally does not need one. Cutting a new opening, or enlarging one for a basement egress window, generally does.

Verify with: Your municipal building department confirms what your specific job requires.

ENERGY STAR certification for the product

Relevant if you intend to claim any efficiency rebate, which typically requires certified products and documentation.

Questions worth asking

  • Is this a retrofit or a full-frame installation? What would the other one cost?
  • How is the gap between the window and the rough opening insulated and air-sealed?
  • Is exterior capping included, and in what colour and material?
  • Is the warranty on the glass seal, the frame, and the labour - and are they different lengths?
  • Is the warranty transferable if I sell the house?
