Kurtis showed up on time and put the time in to evaluate the problem. Consulted with other techs via phone, and then did the fix. Very satisfied. Hope to continue with LB providing service.

We've been using LB heating for our furnace installation and maintenance for over a decade now. Great service every time they visited.

Kurtis came early for the appointment. He was polite and efficient and did a great job cleaning our boiler after 3 years of neglect. He explained what he was doing at each stage and even crawled between my house and the neighbours to get the CO/2 reading. Thanks Kurtis for your professional attention. TH (Toronto)

Absolutely amazing ductless air conditioning installation. Both at home and at work! Timely and tidy process with efficient response time even during a heat wave. Would recommend them without hesitation. Reliable and friendly service. Know others who would say the same. Thanks!

I just had a heat pump/air conditioner installed on my second floor in the master bedroom, and I’m really enjoying being able to sleep better. I called on a Monday, met with the sales rep on Tuesday, the part was ordered and took two weeks to come in. Wonderful prompt service installation took about half a day. I have used LB heating for several years and I highly recommend them. They installed my new furnace, four years ago, the service, my Central air conditioner. And now they’ve installed this heat pump for me. No high-pressure sales just quality work by family business.
Before you hire an HVAC contractor in Ontario
Yes for the parts that matter. Gas work requires TSSA certification, and refrigerant work requires a 313A or 313D certificate plus environmental handling certification.
TSSA Gas Technician certificate (G1, G2 or G3)
Legally required for anyone connecting, servicing or venting gas-fired equipment. G2 covers most residential work; G3 is an entry level that must work under supervision.
Verify with: The Technical Standards and Safety Authority regulates fuel safety in Ontario.
Check LB Heating & Air Conditioning Co. on the official registerCertificate of Qualification, 313A or 313D
313A is the full Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic; 313D is the residential air conditioning equivalent. Both are compulsory trades.
Verify with: Skilled Trades Ontario maintains the public register.
Check LB Heating & Air Conditioning Co. on the official registerODP / refrigerant handling certification
Required to legally purchase and handle refrigerant. Relevant to any AC or heat pump work.
Manufacturer certification for the equipment being installed
Not a legal requirement, but many manufacturer warranties are only valid when installed by a certified dealer. Ask before assuming you have a ten-year warranty.
Questions worth asking
- Will you perform a heat loss and heat gain calculation, and can I see it?
- Who on the crew holds the TSSA gas certificate, and at what level?
- Is the equipment warranty conditional on registration or on installer certification?
- What exactly is covered by your labour warranty, and for how long?
- Does this quote include removal and disposal of the old equipment?
