After working with other technicians before. I can say this has been the most smooth, efficient, reasonable, and friendly service I have received. They were early for the appointment, which I am grateful for as most technicians were always 1-2 hour late from my experiences. Got straight to work and reasonable with pricing. Double, triple checking to see if everything is running smoothly. They communicate well through email and definitely provided the best customer service. Highly recommend!

George and his crew are the absolute best in the business! We have relied on George for the past 2 years for both our personal homes and to refer him to our clients and he has always been exceptional with the service he provides. From helping install sump pumps, fixing toilets, kitchen sink plumbing, George is honest, trustworthy and we will continue to refer him to our friends, family, clients and fellow real estate colleagues. Thank you George and the Plumber to your Door team!

I rarely write reviews, to the best of my knowledge, I'd say 3 to 4 in my 59yrs. My father was a master carpenter and I followed him into the trades for a decade plus, I can say George and his crew do incredible work! Starting from George himself to his crew, it's like when you ask a friend for a referral on someone to fix X and they refer you to someone or someone that a friend used. I just know the difference between value and price and I got both from George (great guy by the way) in the services he provided on not only for myself but other clients that we've provided his contact details to...... Thanks Paul M

George and his crew are incredible. Very timely in response times and the best rates. They are really efficient and have the best professional experience. I have used them myself and my clients also keep going back to use them as well. Very courteous and professional. I would highly recommend them.

Can't recommend Emil highly enough! He was available on short notice, which was a massive relief for me. Emil arrived right on time and was incredibly easy to communicate with throughout the entire process. He quickly assessed the issue with my toilet, explained what needed to be done, and replaced the part in a matter of minutes. I appreciate how dedicated he was to resolving the problem efficiently. Now, my toilet works perfectly! The entire experience was hassle-free, and Emil's professionalism and friendly demeanour made it even more enjoyable. Excellent service overall—thank you, Emil! If you need a reliable plumber, he's definitely the one to call.

Before you hire a plumber in Ontario

Yes. Plumber (306A) is a compulsory trade in Ontario - working without certification is illegal, not just inadvisable.

Certificate of Qualification, 306A Plumber

The individual doing the work must hold this, or be a registered apprentice working under someone who does. Ask for the certificate number and the name it is issued to. It belongs to a person, not a company.

Verify with: Skilled Trades Ontario maintains the public register of certified tradespeople.

General liability insurance

Two million dollars is the common floor for residential work. Water damage escalates fast, and a burst supply line during a renovation can exceed a small policy in an afternoon.

WSIB clearance

If a worker is injured on your property and the contractor has no coverage, you can be drawn into the claim. A clearance certificate is free for the contractor to pull and takes minutes.

Verify with: WSIB issues clearance certificates directly to the contractor on request.

TSSA gas technician certificate (only if gas is involved)

G1, G2 or G3 depending on scope. Required for anything connecting to a natural gas or propane line.

Verify with: The Technical Standards and Safety Authority regulates fuel safety in Ontario.

Questions worth asking

  • Is the person doing the work certified in 306A, or an apprentice being supervised? Both are fine. You just want to know.
  • Is this quote flat rate or time and materials? If hourly, what is the estimated range and what happens if it runs over?
  • Does the job touch a gas line, and if so who holds the TSSA certificate?
  • Does this need a municipal plumbing permit, and are you pulling it?
  • What is the warranty on labour, separately from the manufacturer warranty on parts?
