Christine Han

After doing some renovations, I needed new pipes and a faucet installed. Matthew was quick, professional, and did a great job. The pricing was also very reasonable compared to other plumbers in the area. I’m super happy with the service and would absolutely recommend them!

Mathew did a fantastic job repairing our under mount sink. Quick, friendly and efficient service. We will be recommending him and Royal Plumbing to our friends and family.

A Graham

Called in an issue with our sink and was immediately connected to Matthew who told us exactly what he could do to help and was able to provide us an estimate cost. He was communicative and updated us every step of the way. When he completed the task he was clean, prompt, efficient and friendly. Great experience with the company! Highly recommend to anyone needing their service. Thanks again!

Dalena

Very pleasant experience at Royal Plumbing. Stumbled on there business by search engine read the reviews and gave it a go. Matthew was assigned to the case right away and booking to the service itself was a breeze. He made the process easier, for what could've been a stressful leaked sink situation. He explained everything he planned to do and the trust was there, upfront - he even went out of his way to revisit the unit. Will definitely hit him up again if I have any future plumbing dilemmas. Thank you Matthew for your hard work, transparancy and dedication.

Lana Belle

Matt was an absolute dream to work with - fast, efficient, and completely fair in his pricing. On top of that, he was genuinely friendly and easy to have in our home. We feel lucky to have found him and fully expect he’ll be our plumber for life. I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to recommend him to anyone looking for a true professional.

Before you hire a plumber in Ontario

Yes. Plumber (306A) is a compulsory trade in Ontario - working without certification is illegal, not just inadvisable.

Certificate of Qualification, 306A Plumber

The individual doing the work must hold this, or be a registered apprentice working under someone who does. Ask for the certificate number and the name it is issued to. It belongs to a person, not a company.

Verify with: Skilled Trades Ontario maintains the public register of certified tradespeople.

General liability insurance

Two million dollars is the common floor for residential work. Water damage escalates fast, and a burst supply line during a renovation can exceed a small policy in an afternoon.

WSIB clearance

If a worker is injured on your property and the contractor has no coverage, you can be drawn into the claim. A clearance certificate is free for the contractor to pull and takes minutes.

Verify with: WSIB issues clearance certificates directly to the contractor on request.

TSSA gas technician certificate (only if gas is involved)

G1, G2 or G3 depending on scope. Required for anything connecting to a natural gas or propane line.

Verify with: The Technical Standards and Safety Authority regulates fuel safety in Ontario.

Questions worth asking

  • Is the person doing the work certified in 306A, or an apprentice being supervised? Both are fine. You just want to know.
  • Is this quote flat rate or time and materials? If hourly, what is the estimated range and what happens if it runs over?
  • Does the job touch a gas line, and if so who holds the TSSA certificate?
  • Does this need a municipal plumbing permit, and are you pulling it?
  • What is the warranty on labour, separately from the manufacturer warranty on parts?
