Solda Pools completed our rear yard pool and landscape project and the results are outstanding. From design to completion, the team was professional, organized, and easy to work with. We worked with Frank, Peter and Nick, and they, along with their staff, were awesome. The quality of the pool and landscaping is excellent, with great attention to detail throughout. Communication was clear and timelines were well managed. Our backyard has been completely transformed, and we would highly recommend Solda Pools.

Solda installed our pool in 22/23. Great team and they have all of their own equipment. Nick was great on site to make suggestions (no upsells) to improve on our design. Pool has been great. Two equipment warranty issues which they dealt with quickly in the second year (manufacturer defect not them). Highly recommend. You get what you pay for

I want to start this review with “I’m a very proud owner of an inground Solda pool and spa”. I usually write my reviews shortly after consumption or use. This time, since installing an inground pool and spa is a huge expenditure, I decided to wait a few pool seasons before sharing our experience. The pandemic struck in early 2020, and I immediately conducted research, which led me to Solda Pools. I have absolutely no experience with pool construction, and since Solda is a Brampton company and I live in Brampton, I allowed them to quote on my inground pool and spa. Within a couple of weeks of my online request, I received a call from Frank, the owner of Solda Pools. At the time, everyone and their mother wanted a pool during the Pandemic, so companies were extremely busy. He took a look at my backyard via Zoom, and a few weeks later, he showed up at my house with one of his designers, Rosetti. We sat, and Frank took his time and thoroughly explained everything to us: the process, the look, and the equipment. We didn’t hesitate to sign and gave Solda a deposit. As the owner, I trusted Frank to provide me with the best quality and size of pool equipment, which I learned later on, he did. We discussed how construction would commence by bringing a small excavator between my home and my neighbour's home. However, I suggested contacting the city and getting permission to excavate off the street that ran behind my house. He listened to us and got it done. He also promised that once construction started, it would take 6-8 weeks to complete, and it did. What made their guaranteed time frame so impressive is that all of their employees are Solda employees. They don’t believe in using contractors, and thus, the work gets done on time. Their crews would arrive exactly like they promised every morning. As a customer, we developed such a great relationship that we couldn’t wait for them to arrive, as we provided a daily light breakfast and refreshments throughout the day. On weekends, it was breakfast and lunch. Construction went very smoothly with minimal delays (a couple of rainy days). They would let me know what they would be working on next and arrive like clockwork the next morning, as promised. Four seasons later, and still going strong. Our pool is in tip-top shape. There were a few minor deficiencies, which do happen, but when you’re dealing with a very reputable company like Solda, they get promptly addressed. Even a couple of larger issues of equipment failure and being out of warranty happened, Solda came through and made things right. Their after-sales service is top-notch. Thus, if you were to ask me if I would do it again? Definitely YES. Would I use Solda Pools for all of my pool needs? Without a doubt, a definite YES. When friends and family ask who built our pool and spa, we don’t hesitate to say the number one company in the GTA, Solda Pools, did it. This was one of the best experiences we’ve ever had with a construction company, and it’s all due to the hard work of their construction crew, Rosetti (designer), Candace (customer service), Josephine (service dept.) and of course, Frank, the owner.

A Dream Come True – Thank You, Solda Pools! From the very beginning, Solda Pools made the entire pool-building process an absolute pleasure. They were not only efficient and organized, but they truly cared about every detail. Their passion for their work was evident, and they took immense pride in making everything perfect. One of the things we appreciated most was their clear communication and dedication. They kept us updated every step of the way, ensuring we felt confident and excited throughout the process. Their attention to detail was unmatched, and the end result exceeded all our expectations. We took pictures from start to finish, and looking back, we are truly amazed by the transformation. Our pool is more than just a beautiful addition to our home, it’s a space where we will create lifelong memories with family and friends. Thank you, Solda Pools, for your hard work, dedication, and for making our vision a reality! We couldn’t be happier and would highly recommend your team to anyone looking to build their dream pool.

5+ Stars!! We were thrilled with the first pool and backyard oasis that Solda built in 2013 so we hired them again in 2021 to do it again for the backyard in the home we were building. Both projects were big ones in scope with the second being more complicated due to all moving parts of building a home. They worked with our builder well, supported the process with the other trades on site and were on time and on budget for the entire project. Not only are they extremely responsive and a professional at their craft, they are the nicest bunch of people to work with. A special shout out to Nick Solda for going over and above when we needed the unexpected. Thank you.

Before you hire a pool builder in Ontario

Pool building itself is not a licensed trade, but the electrical work is, and the enclosure permit is mandatory.

Municipal pool enclosure permit

Required in essentially every Ontario municipality, usually before excavation begins. Bylaws specify fence height, gate self-closing and self-latching hardware, and how soon the enclosure must be in place. Enforcement is real and the liability if a child accesses an unfenced pool is severe.

Verify with: Your municipality's building or bylaw department.

ESA notification for pool electrical and bonding

Pool electrical must be installed by a licensed electrical contractor, and the metal structure must be bonded. This requires an ESA notification and inspection.

Verify with: The Electrical Safety Authority, esasafe.com.

Utility locates before excavation

Legally required. Gas and hydro service lines cross yards at unpredictable depths.

General liability insurance and WSIB clearance

Excavation near a house foundation carries real risk. Confirm coverage amounts.

Questions worth asking

  • What is the total installed cost including electrical, gas, decking, fencing and landscape restoration?
  • Who pulls the enclosure permit, and when must the fence be up relative to excavation?
  • Which licensed electrical contractor are you using, and will I receive the ESA Certificate of Acceptance?
  • What is the realistic installation window, and what happens if it slips past the season?
  • How is my deposit protected, and what is refundable if you cannot start?
