Valentin is an incredible Plumber. He has helped our family out several times and just recently did amazing work replacing our old lead pipes - - he was fast, efficient, and friendly and is a consummate professional. During a very stressful time, Valentin was calming and reassuring, and my family is tremendously grateful for the work he did. He does quality work and is a true pro. Thank you Valentin!

Valentin responded to my job request regarding our bathroom toilet. He provided a detailed quote with options. He also helped me to make a decision about repairing or replacing. Additionally, he helped me choose a high quality product within my budget. These happened before I officially ask him to do the job. He showed up on time and worked very carefully and cleaned every. He is a professional that I would recommend and would hire again without a doubt.

Valentin was as helpful as always. This was the second time I called Valetin for my plumbing problem. My laundry room hot water faucet wore out and water couldn’t be stopped. There is no shutoff valve for the section so I had to turn off the main, which is very convenient. Valetin gave advices what to do before coming over which I appreciated a lot. He explained thoroughly what he would do and managed to cut the faucet soldered to my copper pipes, added shutoff valve and replaced with a new faucet in less than 30 minutes. Definitely recommend his services.

Valentin was better than DeNiro in Brazil. In and out, quick and professional. No excess paperwork and all explained fully. Honestly, he did an amazing job and explained the process to me along the way. He was inquisitive about the job before booking. Highly recommend.

I’ve used Valentin from Strong Plumbing Inc. on two occasions, and both experiences have been great. Valentin responds quickly to inquires, provides detailed quotes for the work, and showed up as scheduled each time, even sending a text to confirm when he’d be arriving. Valentin is professional, knowledgeable and highly skilled in all aspects of his work. He is very careful and respectful of the home he’s working in, and on both occasions, left the work area spotless. Valentin also provided helpful information and suggestions and his attention to detail and advice was much appreciated. If I need further plumbing work done in the future, Valentin will be the person I reach out to. I'd highly recommend him if you're in need of plumbing services.

Before you hire a plumber in Ontario

Yes. Plumber (306A) is a compulsory trade in Ontario - working without certification is illegal, not just inadvisable.

Certificate of Qualification, 306A Plumber

The individual doing the work must hold this, or be a registered apprentice working under someone who does. Ask for the certificate number and the name it is issued to. It belongs to a person, not a company.

Verify with: Skilled Trades Ontario maintains the public register of certified tradespeople.

General liability insurance

Two million dollars is the common floor for residential work. Water damage escalates fast, and a burst supply line during a renovation can exceed a small policy in an afternoon.

WSIB clearance

If a worker is injured on your property and the contractor has no coverage, you can be drawn into the claim. A clearance certificate is free for the contractor to pull and takes minutes.

Verify with: WSIB issues clearance certificates directly to the contractor on request.

TSSA gas technician certificate (only if gas is involved)

G1, G2 or G3 depending on scope. Required for anything connecting to a natural gas or propane line.

Verify with: The Technical Standards and Safety Authority regulates fuel safety in Ontario.

Questions worth asking

  • Is the person doing the work certified in 306A, or an apprentice being supervised? Both are fine. You just want to know.
  • Is this quote flat rate or time and materials? If hourly, what is the estimated range and what happens if it runs over?
  • Does the job touch a gas line, and if so who holds the TSSA certificate?
  • Does this need a municipal plumbing permit, and are you pulling it?
  • What is the warranty on labour, separately from the manufacturer warranty on parts?
