Joe and the team did a great job on our roof. Our neighbours even commented on how well they worked, especially on the crazy winter weather. The photos of the finished job are a nice touch! I highly recommend Coverall for your roof

I cannot recommend Coverall Roofing highly enough, specifically George and Mike. We had an absolute nightmare this winter with heavy ice accumulation on the house attached to us causing water to damage our house. Coverall Roofing responded incredibly fast to assess the situation and plan emergency repairs. Since the leak was originating from the neighboring property, it was a very delicate and complicated situation. George handled it with total professionalism. He provided exceptionally detailed photos and a thorough inspection report which was absolutely crucial for getting my insurance claim approved. The weather made the repairs difficult but Mike managed to stop the water completely and left the property spotless. If you need a high-quality roofer who is professional, responsive, provides excellent documentation for insurance, call George at Coverall Roofing!

We needed our flat roof replaced. Joe is super responsive. The quote was through and he was honest about what we needed and more importantly, what we didn't need/shouldn't spend money on. For example, we didn't didn't need an extra later of insulation. The team is quick, cleaned up well. Coverall has also done roofs for countless of our friends and neighbors in the reviews here. In fact, randomly, another team at Coverall was working out our friend's house the same day as ours.

Joe at Coverall did a great job redoing our roof a couple years ago, offering honest, expert advice about the work we needed to have done and getting it all done quickly and in short turnaround time, at a fair price. He also went above and beyond when, after an historic snowstorm, our roof drain was blocked by snow and ice. He went up on our four-storey roof, cleared it all out, and again, offered terrific advice about what we needed to do to prevent this happening again, all without charge. I highly recommend Coverall for fast, honest, expert roofing work. Five stars isn't enough.

Coverall replaced my flat roof and eavestroughs in Toronto in April 2025. Sorry for the late review. Joe responded quickly and explained clearly the process involved. Lucas and his crew worked diligently for a day and a half, including arriving at 7am the next day when the job could not be completed. I try to do my due diligence and I believe I found an honest, hard working company that takes care of its customers.

Before you hire a roofer in Ontario

No. Roofing is not a compulsory trade in Ontario, so there is no licence to verify - which makes insurance and WSIB coverage the checks that matter.

WSIB clearance certificate

The most important document in this trade. Ask for a current certificate and confirm it names the company doing your work, not a subcontractor you have never met. It should be dated within the last 90 days.

Verify with: WSIB clearance certificates can be validated online by the account number.

General liability insurance

Two million dollars minimum for residential roofing. Request the certificate of insurance directly from the broker rather than a photocopy, and confirm the policy is current.

Manufacturer shingle certification

Optional but meaningful. Manufacturers certify installers, and certification is what unlocks the extended system warranty. Without it you have a material warranty only, which covers far less than most homeowners assume.

Municipal business licence

Some Ontario municipalities require one. Not universal, but easy to ask about.

Questions worth asking

  • Can I see a current WSIB clearance certificate and your liability certificate of insurance?
  • Is this a full tear-off, or shingling over the existing layer? (Overlays are cheaper and shorten roof life.)
  • How much ice and water shield is included, and how far up from the eave?
  • Are you certified by the shingle manufacturer, and does this quote include the system warranty or only the material warranty?
  • What happens if you find rotten decking? What is the per-sheet price, and will you show me before replacing it?
