We were out of the country, and a furnace needed work. Thinking we were desperate Farley rendered a quote that was about 4 x the $5000.00 we ended up paying. It was disappointing because till that point we felt they were honest.

Nick and the team at Farley Heating were amazing—friendly, accommodating, and truly went above and beyond. They responded quickly when our heat was shut off due to an unknown gas leak, and they explained everything clearly (including financing options), which really helped during a stressful time. Gas piping repair + YORK high-efficiency furnace (YORK CCE dealer). Highly recommend!

The service we received from Farley Heating was excellent. I highly recommend them. Our furnace stopped working over the Christmas holidays, and Nick, the owner, came and gave us an estimate promptly. He provided extensive information regarding the models of high efficiency furnaces available, as well as competitive pricing, and sent us estimates for 4 different furnace models and price ranges to give us choices. His professionalism and personalized service made this whole difficult experience much better. In addition, he was able to fit us in quickly which was a huge benefit because our house had been without heat for several days. Nick and his team were consummate professionals who treated us and our house with respect and consideration, during the removal of the old furnace and the installation of the new furnace, using drop cloths throughout to protect our floors, and thoroughly cleaning up the furnace room post-installation. Farley Heating Inc. exceeded our expectations and we are grateful to Nick for personally ensuring we had the best service and pricing possible. Thank you Farley Heating Inc, Nick and team for your exemplary service!

Highly recommend! Nick and team are wonderful. We've had all kinds of issues with our complicated, rural heating system and they have been so responsive, trustworthy, knowledgeable and effective. They managed to fix the issues once and for all. Nick stands out for caring about clients, including ensuring we were warm enough when the system was being fixed and his thorough communication.

Great experience with Farley Heating. They fitted a mini split for us at a competitive price with prompt communication and great advice. Friendly and professional throughout. Would have no issues using them again. Thanks Nick!

Yes for the parts that matter. Gas work requires TSSA certification, and refrigerant work requires a 313A or 313D certificate plus environmental handling certification.

TSSA Gas Technician certificate (G1, G2 or G3)

Legally required for anyone connecting, servicing or venting gas-fired equipment. G2 covers most residential work; G3 is an entry level that must work under supervision.

Verify with: The Technical Standards and Safety Authority regulates fuel safety in Ontario.

Certificate of Qualification, 313A or 313D

313A is the full Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic; 313D is the residential air conditioning equivalent. Both are compulsory trades.

Verify with: Skilled Trades Ontario maintains the public register.

ODP / refrigerant handling certification

Required to legally purchase and handle refrigerant. Relevant to any AC or heat pump work.

Manufacturer certification for the equipment being installed

Not a legal requirement, but many manufacturer warranties are only valid when installed by a certified dealer. Ask before assuming you have a ten-year warranty.

Questions worth asking

  • Will you perform a heat loss and heat gain calculation, and can I see it?
  • Who on the crew holds the TSSA gas certificate, and at what level?
  • Is the equipment warranty conditional on registration or on installer certification?
  • What exactly is covered by your labour warranty, and for how long?
  • Does this quote include removal and disposal of the old equipment?
