I had Dallas and his crew patch up a leak in my roof back in early October. After numerous rainfalls and with the snow melting after the heavy snowfall this winter, I can say without a doubt that this company did a great job! When I first called Dallas, he scheduled to come out to my house right away for a free quote vs. some of the other roofers that never called me back, and even worse some roofers that said they would come to take a look and never showed up. Dallas provided a very fair quote and suggested some upgrades to my venting. The job was done quickly and professionally, and Dallas provided before and after photos of the work. I would definitely recommend his roofing services.

We had them redo our eavestroughs in the summer and they were fantastic! We've just had them back for ice damage on our roof and they were just as fantastic. Dalls is very easy to communicate with. He responds quickly, explains the problem clearly, they are punctual and he does what he says he is going to do. His crew is very pleasant and easy to deal with as well. I'm already planning on using them again for another project when the weather gets better. 100% would recommend!

Dallas and his team at Greater Toronto Roofing were outstanding. During an extremely busy time, Dallas still made space to respond to an emergency situation for us. His crew worked well into the night to get the job done and, thanks to their quick action, prevented further internal damage to our home. The workmanship was excellent, and just as importantly, Dallas and his team were reassuring, professional, and genuinely pleasant to deal with during a stressful situation. I would highly recommend Greater Toronto Roofing without hesitation.

We recently had our roof replaced in Leslieville by Dallas and his team at Greater Toronto Roofing Services, and we couldn’t be happier with the job and the overall experience. They provided a free estimate using drone technology, which was a great value-added service—it allowed us to actually look at the roof ourselves and understand the condition it was in before the work began. Throughout the project, the communication was excellent. The crew was professional, polite, and highly skilled, even sending us photos of the job while they were actually working so we could see the progress in real-time. Dallas is clearly an honest guy who takes pride in his work, and we felt very comfortable throughout the entire process. We are thrilled with our new roof and would highly recommend Dallas and his team to anyone.

We are so happy our home contractor referred Dallas of Greater Toronto Roofing Services to us! He quickly assessed our existing skylight was cracked and leaking water into our home and needed replacing. He ordered us a new one and a week later , his and his team installed it. They constructed a new wood collar to mount the new skylight more securely and to keep the weather outside. This was a much better set up than we previously had. They took away the old broken skylight and all the old parts. They worked very professionally and were very pleasant to deal with. My wife and I are so pleased with the them and the fine work they did and at a reasonable cost. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dallas and his team for all your roofing needs.

Before you hire a roofer in Ontario

No. Roofing is not a compulsory trade in Ontario, so there is no licence to verify - which makes insurance and WSIB coverage the checks that matter.

WSIB clearance certificate

The most important document in this trade. Ask for a current certificate and confirm it names the company doing your work, not a subcontractor you have never met. It should be dated within the last 90 days.

Verify with: WSIB clearance certificates can be validated online by the account number.

General liability insurance

Two million dollars minimum for residential roofing. Request the certificate of insurance directly from the broker rather than a photocopy, and confirm the policy is current.

Manufacturer shingle certification

Optional but meaningful. Manufacturers certify installers, and certification is what unlocks the extended system warranty. Without it you have a material warranty only, which covers far less than most homeowners assume.

Municipal business licence

Some Ontario municipalities require one. Not universal, but easy to ask about.

Questions worth asking

  • Can I see a current WSIB clearance certificate and your liability certificate of insurance?
  • Is this a full tear-off, or shingling over the existing layer? (Overlays are cheaper and shorten roof life.)
  • How much ice and water shield is included, and how far up from the eave?
  • Are you certified by the shingle manufacturer, and does this quote include the system warranty or only the material warranty?
  • What happens if you find rotten decking? What is the per-sheet price, and will you show me before replacing it?
