Jason and the Romava Epoxy team were super responsive, reasonably priced, and did an outstanding job on my garage floor. I was so impressed with the results that I asked about epoxy options for plywood. My covered deck, which had a worn duradek membrane with visible seams, was at the end of its life. Romava applied an epoxy coating, and it turned out beautifully as well. I’d highly recommend them for your next concrete or plywood epoxy project.

Jason (ROMVA owner & Team) did a fantastic job on our front porch. Although a new home we had several ugly cracks in the cement surface. They repaired these, ground down the surface to perfectly smooth and then did their multiple treatments. The Flecking colours are beautiful, and now it is completely non-slip and ready to take on harsh winters!

Exceptional service ! Jason and his crew were incredibly professional and the work was meticulously completed in an efficient manner. I rarely take the time to complete reviews but had to make an exception here….very pleased.

Jason and his crew (Jeremy, Nathan, Owen, Melissa) recently refreshed our garage by putting down a new floor surface, installing drywall, a wall covering for exposed pipes and wires and painting the entire garage. Needless-to-say, we are extremely pleased with the end result. It has definitely increased the value of our home. Over the course of 8 business days the entire work crew were friendly, informative and cohesive ~ working well together as a team. We highly recommend this company and have no hesitation in giving them 5 Stars!

We first saw how beautiful this floor repair and coating looked at a neighbours one street over. So we had Jason and his team do our floor and it looks terrific. Our neighbours loved it too so three of them got it done as well. The pics tell the story of the process, effort and marvelous outcome.
Before you hire a flooring installer in Ontario
No provincial licence required. Manufacturer installation requirements are the real standard, because they govern your warranty.
General liability insurance and WSIB clearance
Standard checks.
Manufacturer installation compliance
Most flooring warranties specify subfloor flatness, moisture content and acclimation. Departing from them voids coverage, and the manufacturer will ask for evidence if you claim.
Moisture testing for concrete subfloors
Basements and slab-on-grade need a moisture test before wood or glue-down vinyl goes on. Skipping it is the most common cause of catastrophic basement floor failure.
Asbestos assessment for pre-1990 flooring
Old vinyl tile and its adhesive can contain asbestos. It must not be sanded or dry-scraped without assessment.
Questions worth asking
- Is subfloor preparation included, and what happens if the floor turns out to be uneven?
- Is removal and disposal of the existing flooring in this price?
- How long will the material acclimate on site before installation?
- For basements or concrete: will you moisture-test the slab first?
- Are transitions, baseboard, quarter round and stair nosing included?
