Highly recommend! Service is amazing and prices are unbeatable. Fenil was extremely helpful when we were picking a floor tile versus a wall tile including choosing appropriate grout for the different types of tile. As DIYers Fenil’s wealth of knowledge was immensely helpful. They have a wide selection of tiles of all sizes, styles, materials, and prices. We truly enjoyed our trip and will absolutely be returning the next time we’re tiling. Huge selection of wood flooring as well which we will be returning for.

Fenil and team at the World of Tile in Kingston Ontario were amazing. Great quality and selection on site, and ordered items came in on time. Fenil provided excellent customer service to help make the right decisions on tile for my recent renovations. I recommend this business for all your tile needs.

We had fantastic service here. Product knowledge and advice were top notch. Great range of products. No rush and no push on sales…only great friendly service! Highly recommended!! From start to finish, the bathroom was done by Lyonsden from Kingston. Check them out on Instagram! The quality from service to workmanship is outstanding.

Great Store! Amazing prices! Fenil is so knowledgeable about his products. He’s a one stop shop for all your tiling jobs! Superior quality and service. We are building our retirement home and look forward to showing off what we picked from The World of Tile in Kingston. Let your imagination go with the wide variety of possibilities Fenil will show you. I would find one that I loved and then he would pull out another that was even better. It was hard to choose with so more options. So happy to have a store that the prices are reasonable and doesn’t come from a box store and you see it in your neighbors house! These tiles are worth bragging about for sure! Thanks Fenil . Will send you the after pics when we finish the floors. Updated. Both floors are completed and are stunning especially the high polished tile in the foyer. And so easy to keep clean. Can’t say enough about this place. So many textiles to choose from. Thanks again Fenil!

The staff is knowledgeable and super helpful, making the whole shopping experience enjoyable. If you're working on a renovation or new project, this place is a must-visit for all your tile needs. Highly recommended!

Before you hire a flooring installer in Ontario

No provincial licence required. Manufacturer installation requirements are the real standard, because they govern your warranty.

General liability insurance and WSIB clearance

Standard checks.

Manufacturer installation compliance

Most flooring warranties specify subfloor flatness, moisture content and acclimation. Departing from them voids coverage, and the manufacturer will ask for evidence if you claim.

Moisture testing for concrete subfloors

Basements and slab-on-grade need a moisture test before wood or glue-down vinyl goes on. Skipping it is the most common cause of catastrophic basement floor failure.

Asbestos assessment for pre-1990 flooring

Old vinyl tile and its adhesive can contain asbestos. It must not be sanded or dry-scraped without assessment.

Questions worth asking

  • Is subfloor preparation included, and what happens if the floor turns out to be uneven?
  • Is removal and disposal of the existing flooring in this price?
  • How long will the material acclimate on site before installation?
  • For basements or concrete: will you moisture-test the slab first?
  • Are transitions, baseboard, quarter round and stair nosing included?
