Brookstone did a great job in giving us a beautiful eye catching door with quality installation! They were informative, friendly and time efficient! We love our new front door and know that with that kind of quality it will last for years and has already got the attention of our neighbours and family! Thank you Brookstone! We would highly recommend this company for their window and door needs!

We had been looking at purchasing some new doors and we met with Harman. He was so knowledgeable and showed us doors in detail! What a great guy. Installation was smooth and the man was professional and really nice. Dealing with the company was a great experience. We love our doors and can't wait to get a patio door and a few small windows.

Everything went exactly perfect from beginning to end! The salesperson, Harman, was patient to my 10 million questions and found a solution perfectly for me. The secondary measurement went awesome too! Installation, done by a team of brothers was fabulous. They were efficient, respectful and so clean!!! The staff whom I spoke with on the phone each time I called and finally, the last visit to ensure everything was good was great. The entire team at Brookstone made this an easy, stress-free process for my new double doors!!

Excellent products and excellent service. I world wholeheartedly recommend everyone if any of you are considering changing windows or doors. After the installation, service team visits house to make sure everything is okay. That's a month after the installation so that's what I call the customer service. After switching to Brookstone windows, it is much quieter and thermometer status much more stable. My front door was custom sized (46 inches) so I was worried about how it will look. It is absolute perfection. Clean and secure.

We just purchased a new front and side door from Brookstone Windows & Doors and we love them! We were so happy with how fast they came in and they were able to install them shortly after. Everyone from the sales reps to the installers and the final appointment were all so nice and professional! Highly recommend this business to anyone looking for windows or doors!

Before you hire a window and door installer in Ontario

No provincial licence is required. Installation quality is governed by manufacturer specification and the Ontario Building Code rather than by a trade certificate.

General liability insurance and WSIB clearance

Standard checks. Window installation involves ladder work and heavy glass.

Manufacturer-trained installer status

Matters more than usual here, because most window warranties are voided by installation that departs from the manufacturer specification.

Building permit for new or enlarged openings

Replacing a window in an existing opening generally does not need one. Cutting a new opening, or enlarging one for a basement egress window, generally does.

Verify with: Your municipal building department confirms what your specific job requires.

ENERGY STAR certification for the product

Relevant if you intend to claim any efficiency rebate, which typically requires certified products and documentation.

Questions worth asking

Is this a retrofit or a full-frame installation? What would the other one cost?
How is the gap between the window and the rough opening insulated and air-sealed?
Is exterior capping included, and in what colour and material?
Is the warranty on the glass seal, the frame, and the labour - and are they different lengths?
Is the warranty transferable if I sell the house?
