I’ve been a Lemmon’s customer for forty years and have always been very pleased with their work. Very professional and very friendly crew. I strongly recommend them.

Have used them several times in the past with quality work. Recently I tried twice to get work done only to have them call me right when they should have shown up or just after and say we can’t make it. I’ve had to cancel 2 appointments to be able to be home when they arrive and now I have to pay for those two missed appointments but I am welcome to try and make another appointment and see what happens. No thanks

Would highly recommend Lemmon's for any and all plumbing needs, whether it be a clogged sink, a boiler replacement, or new build. The team is fantastic with scheduling and the on-site service are respectful of the premises and go above and beyond.

Found some water on my basement floor and knew it was from the plumbing but couldn't determine where. I called Lemmon and Sons in the morning and they managed to fit me in later that day. Peter was very friendly and professional. He quickly found the problem and discussed a couple repair options before he went to work. I was very happy with their service.

Hired them to unclog my Kitchen sink, their plumbers were great, did the job in 15- 20 min, very friendly and professional. However, when the company sent the bill over, it was over $400, called and asked for their hourly rate, so apparently they charge $95/hours including travel time, the receptionist explained that two plumbers each traveled half hour to get to my place (in the same truck), and their labor was charged 1 hour minimum per job, so 3 hours labor in total were charged at $95/hour, plus $30 truck fee, and plus $40 rod charge (I'm assuming it refers to the sneak they used to unclog my sink) . That means $186.45 (HST included) were charge before they enter my house. Is this common in Kingston? I'm from Ottawa, and shocked with this bill.
Before you hire a plumber in Ontario
Yes. Plumber (306A) is a compulsory trade in Ontario - working without certification is illegal, not just inadvisable.
Certificate of Qualification, 306A Plumber
The individual doing the work must hold this, or be a registered apprentice working under someone who does. Ask for the certificate number and the name it is issued to. It belongs to a person, not a company.
Verify with: Skilled Trades Ontario maintains the public register of certified tradespeople.

Two million dollars is the common floor for residential work. Water damage escalates fast, and a burst supply line during a renovation can exceed a small policy in an afternoon.
WSIB clearance
If a worker is injured on your property and the contractor has no coverage, you can be drawn into the claim. A clearance certificate is free for the contractor to pull and takes minutes.
Verify with: WSIB issues clearance certificates directly to the contractor on request.

G1, G2 or G3 depending on scope. Required for anything connecting to a natural gas or propane line.
Verify with: The Technical Standards and Safety Authority regulates fuel safety in Ontario.

- Is the person doing the work certified in 306A, or an apprentice being supervised? Both are fine. You just want to know.
- Is this quote flat rate or time and materials? If hourly, what is the estimated range and what happens if it runs over?
- Does the job touch a gas line, and if so who holds the TSSA certificate?
- Does this need a municipal plumbing permit, and are you pulling it?
- What is the warranty on labour, separately from the manufacturer warranty on parts?
